How to Calculate

The exam average is calculated by dividing the sum of all scores by the number of exams. Average = Sum of Scores ÷ Number of Exams You can also view the highest score, lowest score, and total.

Exam scores: 85, 92, 78, 96, 88 Total = 439 Average = 439 ÷ 5 = 87.80 Highest score = 96 Lowest score = 78

FAQ

Can I enter scores from exams not out of 100?
Yes, any score can be entered. However, averaging scores from exams with different maximum scores may not give a meaningful comparison. It is recommended to calculate scores with the same maximum.
Can I calculate a weighted average?
This calculator computes a simple arithmetic average. For weighted averages by subject, please use the GPA calculator.
How are decimal places handled?
The average is displayed to two decimal places, rounded.
