Speed Calculator

Calculate speed, distance, or time.

km
h

How to Calculate

Relationship between speed, distance, and time: • Speed = Distance ÷ Time • Distance = Speed × Time • Time = Distance ÷ Speed Select the value you want to find, then enter the other two values. Speed is in km/h, distance in km, and time in hours (h).

Example

Traveling 100 km in 2 hours Speed = 100 ÷ 2 = 50 km/h (≈ 13.89 m/s) Traveling at 60 km/h for 3 hours Distance = 60 × 3 = 180 km Traveling 150 km at 75 km/h Time = 150 ÷ 75 = 2 hours (120 minutes)

FAQ

How do I convert km/h to m/s?
Divide km/h by 3.6 to get m/s. For example, 36 km/h = 10 m/s. The result also shows the m/s equivalent.
What is the difference between average speed and instantaneous speed?
Average speed is total distance divided by total time. Instantaneous speed is the speed at a specific moment. This calculator computes average speed.
Can I calculate marathon pace?
Yes, enter the marathon distance (42.195 km) and your target time in hours to find your average speed. For example, a 4-hour target gives about 10.55 km/h.
